The God I See - Part I

Imagine this wall of worship. A place where all believers can go and do their thing. Worship it is.

I have a thing for churches. Cathedrals. Chapels. Catholics are common within Latin countries. Not my fault! Then here, up North - where the Vikings were spreading their magic - I encountered a somehow different approach. I started noticing that places of worship were not as gold as in Catholic churches. They were milder. Straight-forward (or backward…you never know when it comes to religion).

From outside, they do not certainly look like churches, but castles. Usually called stave churches. The tower is build in a strategic position and looks like it was used for defence. I wonder if they were fighting for their believes somewhere in history.

Life-long lover

Yes, it is food again. I truly believe food will be my main topic, at least during these 28 days.

It is life-changing, as it is supposed to be, so deal with it.

This is (not) art

It is getting harder and harder to distinguish art from non-art. At least for an amateur lover, like me. I am in love with art since I know myself, but I have never really studied it.

So, Mr(s) Amateur, can you, please, stop wandering around? Maybe it is time for you to move on.

Greek crisis

Economists make efforts to predict future crisis based on all sort of indicators. I believe there is a clear proxy of society issues: human behaviour.

If they would focus more on actual human functioning, they would reach the conclusion that there is much more to change than unlimited consumption.

Great nations destroyed for the benefit of already forgotten minorities. Nations now being put set aside for their misconducting strategies.

Anyway, the Greeks do have an interesting cuisine.

Budget solved. Now let's access its impacts. An approach taken in lower latitudes.

Rounded values, just to show the big picture.

A moist Alentejo

Travelling by train has its own advantages. Do you recall my previous travels? Here, here, and here. They were different, yet both overwhelming.

On my last trip, I realized how this country resembles my own. Just like a moist Alentejo. Much greener though.

Getting out of the box

Scream out loud so you may be heard. Don’t just stand there, practicing some shoe-gazing.

This is just to emphasize that, no matter what you work on, working strategies should not be fixed. Allow yourself to get out of your routine. Be creative!
Try a different perspective and you may be amazed.
Get out of your comfort zone.
Get some fresh air.
Come back to the same place (if you happen not to find anything les boring), but try. It frequently happens to me that I solve a problem (that was taking me ages before) just after I have a break.

One very important big break (ok, several huge breaks!!!) in my life is allowing to “culturize” myself as much as possible. Concerts, cinema, photography, museums, books, dance shows… There is always some form of art in my life.

I could not leave without it.

“Dance, dance, otherwise we are lost”

We are lost anyway. The point is that if we all dance our bodies out, we will definitely be happier.

Try it! The body works, the mind follows. Or is it the other way around? Sigh. This is exactly what I love in dance.

Organic nation

This is my week of posting firsts, apparently.

I went first to an organic farm (ok, I have been in orders, but this time I actually went on purpose and quite aware of it) 1 or 2 years ago. I was already in love with these, but it was great to fill up my senses with such good vibes.

One of the best things was the whole, fresh milk. Unbelievably rich and good!

Cultural differences scattered over a suburban area.

“Love is in the air”, they claim. I am not sure about them, but I certainly smelled a whole different aroma.

La Traviata

There is no room for everything. The days should be longer.

I either skip sleeping, or leave one of my beloved ones behind. Hard to choose, but it has to be done.

Focus is needed! Organization is harder when one longs for more than is actually able to perform.
