Born in the 80's

Even though I can’t recall what was happening back there, I know the impact these decade had on the following generations.

I am proud of being born in the 80’s, raised in the 90’s, and experienced the change of the century.

What the heck? No, not really. There was no change at all. The humanity is doomed! Doomed to a self-centered disease. Are we hopeless?

The basis of life

Can you please define a bloom?
Eeerrrr

Yes, that’s it, folks. I am trying to define a bloom based on daily, 100 Km resolution, satellite data. Think about it and let me know a.s.a.p.!

The bigger, the better

Double sized snacks have a great advantage. Depending on your craving, you may opt for the perfect-sized snack. I like keep my options open.

Regarding the size issue, there is a theory that claims that “the bigger, the better”. I may have mentioned this theory on a previous post (have I?), but here it goes again for those who have an incredible memory, such as mine is.

If you are a prey, you should consider investing in growing bigger, rather than in achieving a longer life. Moreover, you should consider growing as fast as possible, so you get out of the “predatory window”. This window is basically the size-spectrum that a predator can handle, i.e. there is a minimum size above which a predator (depending on the type of predator we are dealing with, if it is a filter-feeding predator, then pretty much everything enters, then it just expels what isn’t important) starts considering. At this same point in time and space, the cost of preying is surpassed by the profit – both nutritionally and energetically. There is also a maximum size over which the predator is no longer able to ingest the prey due to the size of its own mouth. So you better grow faster to surpass the size of your predator’s mouth, right?

And today is the day when a LOT of things happen.

Life-centered roots

I will never forget my roots, but Copenhagen is definitely a great place to live.

I love cycling!
It gives me so much pleasure, and I am all about pleasure seeking.

(pin)hole mode

My D got company. Now it's my double D.

He got me a pretty new D. A multi-pinhole one. I have never thought about getting one myself, but he knows me. He knows I get inspired by this type of triggers. I could spent hours on it.

He even allows me to use his mobile as a light meter.

Oh yeah, this was just a random night at Rantzausgade 28.

Fireworks and fairy tales

In need of some deep thoughts. This is not the place to be, but it's good enough to get inspired to take some pictures.

Shooting in the dark is in my top, no doubts.
Oh, and the Olympics started. Good luck, folks!

The lion sleeps tonight

While I am quite awake.

No more coffee, please!

Then my vision gets all blurred and I don’t perform as well as I am capable of.

When the sun goes down

There are just a few things that comfort me.

One of them is watching a movie.

The God I See - Part I

Imagine this wall of worship. A place where all believers can go and do their thing. Worship it is.

I have a thing for churches. Cathedrals. Chapels. Catholics are common within Latin countries. Not my fault! Then here, up North - where the Vikings were spreading their magic - I encountered a somehow different approach. I started noticing that places of worship were not as gold as in Catholic churches. They were milder. Straight-forward (or backward…you never know when it comes to religion).

From outside, they do not certainly look like churches, but castles. Usually called stave churches. The tower is build in a strategic position and looks like it was used for defence. I wonder if they were fighting for their believes somewhere in history.

Distorted reality

It’s not all clean and clear. It’s not all pink and white. It’s not all heavens and harems.

It’s reality and we have to face it. We live in a dirty world, because we created a dirty world.

Land of greens and whites

Far, far away, I am. Above the Arctic Circle. Qeqertarsuaq for two weeks.

A place once named Grønland. A name to never be changed again. White is its main colour, yet it is probably one of the greenest places on Earth.
My fellow countrymen, who I am very proud of, have once sailed here, on their way to Asia. Look what they found.

Getting out of the box

Scream out loud so you may be heard. Don’t just stand there, practicing some shoe-gazing.

This is just to emphasize that, no matter what you work on, working strategies should not be fixed. Allow yourself to get out of your routine. Be creative!
Try a different perspective and you may be amazed.
Get out of your comfort zone.
Get some fresh air.
Come back to the same place (if you happen not to find anything les boring), but try. It frequently happens to me that I solve a problem (that was taking me ages before) just after I have a break.

One very important big break (ok, several huge breaks!!!) in my life is allowing to culturize” myself as much as possible. Concerts, cinema, photography, museums, books, dance shows… There is always some form of art in my life.

I could not leave without it.
(Nor with you!)

Phase 3: whole life

"Live life in all its fullness"

I believe in living as close to the pure concept of life as possible. To live fully committed to your roots, connected to your origins. One may achieve a deeper connection through, for instance, food.

I have been investing in improving my life quality for the last month. I am learning a lot while enjoying great food. And, let me tell you, gorgeous food I am having! So colourful and with so much going on, like a rollercoaster. I almost feel dizzy just by looking to the perfect textures and shapes food may have. Just like little pieces of art. I have so much fun and feel so close to a clímax. Seriously, I have loads of pleasure cooing, eating, reading, photographing, or just writing about food, that I find myself happier than ever.

Life-changing moments, these are. Moments which I try to stop. No, be honest, have you encountered a plate of gorgeous food? I love to call it “food porn”. It is good and addictive, and I cannot stop. Ok, but there is a difference: you do not feel bad about it afterwards.

Breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, you name it. Invite me to eat and I am in! No, fast food is not food. It would be like going for a movie and ending up just watching the trailer. And a really boring one! No good! No me gusta (I have to practice my Spanish, apparently).

Give me good food, complete food, WHOLE food!!! and I will be your slave forever. Ok, not exactly slave, but you will definitely be in extremely good consideration.

I try, I truly try to freeze these astonishing experiences, like paintings, filled with colour and good vibes. I am a scientist, but when it comes to food, science is not enough. I get inspired and art just takes over. Besides, I feel healthier than ever.

There is just a tiny thing missing, but soon I will be breathing and feeling plenty of that misplaced piece.
